Say It Now, the voice assistant adtech firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of Neil Munn, the former Global CEO of BBH, one of the world’s leading creative agencies, to its Board. Munn brings unrivalled experience, knowledge, and connectivity to Say It Now as the award winning adtech, which specialises in actionable audio advertising via smart speakers, targets its next phase of growth across the UK and North America.

The news builds on a successful 2022 for Say It Now. The company has been selected by brands from several FMCG giants – including Procter & Gamble’s Herbal, Johnson & Johnson’s Listerine, and Unilever’s CIF wipes – to lead on the design and execution of their smart speaker advertising campaigns. It has announced similar partnerships with brands ranging from Pizza Hut to Specsavers, and Munn’s unparalleled industry network is expected to help Say It Now increase its profile across a range of B2C sectors.

The advantage of actionable audio advertising, which works with voice assistants, is that the consumer’s call to action can take place instantly; it does not require them to log on to another device or go to a shop. Real time data showing the actionable audio advert’s engagement rate also means that the campaign can be fine tuned while it is live. Brands can therefore make their actionable adverts as  targeted and tailored to the audience as possible – without having to wait for the campaign to finish.

A world-renowned leader in advertising, Munn was attracted to Say It Now’s bold and disruptive approach to traditional audio advertising. Munn was Global CEO and Chairman of BBH, a Publicis agency, for seven years between 2014 and 2021 and helped the company forge its reputation as an international agency known for breakthrough creativity with a global network that spans the UK, Asia and the US. Munn’s client portfolio included a suite of big blue-chip brands, including Audi, American Express, Tesco and Google.

Munn arrived at BBH in 2006 to found ZAG Ventures, BBH’s consultancy and early stage venturing business, and, prior to that, spent fifteen years at Unilever.

Charlie Cadbury, CEO and Founder, Say It Now, says:

“It’s a pleasure to welcome Neil Munn to the Board of Say It Now. Neil is one of the advertising industry’s most accomplished senior leaders and we know that his knowledge, experience and expertise will be invaluable to Say It Now as we look to scale up across Europe and North America. We are thrilled that he shares our passion for actionable advertising and we look forward to working together.”

Neil Munn, Non-Executive Director, Say It Now, says:

“Actionable audio advertising and ‘v-commerce’ are transforming traditional audio and the way that brands interact with consumers on a day-to-day basis. This technology shakes up the tools available to marketers and can invigorate traditional media campaigns. I am excited to join Say It Now and support Charlie and the team to break new frontiers of advertising.”

Analysts predict that the growing use of voice assistants will drive the value of smart home payments to $164 billion in 2025, and leading brands as well as global media agencies are looking to harness the potential of the emerging marketing channel.[1] Say It Now was recently selected as the voice partner of choice for Group M, the world’s leading media investment company, who is responsible for more than $60bn in annual media investment through WPP agencies such as Mindshare, MediaCom, Wavemaker, Essence and m/SIX. The partnership will see Say It Now explore collaborations, implement voice enabled marketing campaigns and develop strategies for Group M clients in this rapidly developing space.
