Condé Nast Names Deirdre Findlay as CMO & Mike Goss as CFO

Condé Nast announced the appointments of Mike Goss as chief financial officer and Deirdre Findlay as chief marketing officer, both effective in January 2020.

Goss will oversee the company’s global financial operations, as well as global business development and partnerships, corporate strategy and legal and content rights management. Findlay will oversee all consumer marketing efforts for the company and will focus on developing a global, data-driven digital strategy that will drive direct-to-consumer revenue. Additionally, Findlay will be responsible for increasing subscription and membership program revenue and identifying new direct-to-consumer revenue opportunities. Findlay’s team will also manage brand development for global titles, and oversee consumer research and insights and audience development.

Most recently, Goss served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Sotheby’s for nearly four years. Prior to joining Sotheby’s, Goss was with Bain Capital for 15 years in various senior managerial capacities including chief operating officer and chief financial officer. During his tenure in these roles, Bain Capital grew from $10 billion to $70 billion in assets under management, and its number of global offices more than doubled. Prior to joining Bain Capital, Goss was executive vice president and chief financial officer of Digitas Inc., a worldwide digital media firm which he helped take public on behalf of its private equity backers. Between 1994 and 1999, Goss was executive vice president, chief financial officer, and a member of the Board of Directors of Playtex Products Inc.

Findlay joins Condé Nast from Stitch Fix, where she served as a chief marketing officer for the past year and a half. While at Stitch Fix, Findlay oversaw the launch of the company’s first integrated brand campaign and launched the brand in the U.K. Prior to Stitch Fix, Findlay spent five years at Google in a number of roles including senior director of global hardware marketing for Google Home, Chromecast and Wifi. In this role, Findlay launched Google Home with an innovative campaign that quickly immersed Google Home in the cultural zeitgeist globally. Prior to Google, Findlay held several positions at eBay including senior director of consumer marketing. Findlay started her Marketing career at Digitas, where she rose to senior vice president and worked with many high profile clients including Kaiser Permanente, Whirlpool Corporation, Miller Brewing, Nokia and Allstate Insurance Company.
