Facebook recently reported that it is witnessing higher demand for its features amid the COVID-19 lockdowns worldwide. Messaging usage has gone up by 50% across Messenger and WhatsApp, and the use of live video on Messenger has increased by 70%. To meet this soaring demand, Facebook is adding more tools to its Live option for regular users as well as professional broadcasters – to make it a more beneficial tool for connecting with a broader audience.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO at Facebook, mentioned in a statement, “We are working to keep our apps running smoothly. We’re monitoring usage patterns carefully, making our systems more efficient, and adding capacity as required.”
