WhatsApp has recently announced the release of its new encrypted video chat option for eight persons. This will now double the capacity of the WhatsApp group video calls.

Lately, the pandemic has caused more people to turn to WhatsApp video calling like never before. As per WhatsApp, “Group calling has been particularly useful, and our users have asked to connect with more people at once. Starting today, we’re doubling the number of participants you can have on a WhatsApp video or voice call from 4 to 8 people at a time.”
Besides, the company noted that the group video calls would also be available through the Facebook Portal home speaker devices.
